In asking for your child to be baptized, you are accepting the responsibility of training your child in the practice of our Catholic Faith.
This means that you will provide your child with an opportunity to attend Mass each weekend, to attend religious education classes regularly, to help in the preparation of your child for the reception of the other sacraments and to provide in word and action a positive example of how to live the Christian Catholic life within a parish community.
A Baptism Prep Class is required before baptism. Please call the parish office, 217-961-6404, to pre-register.
Baptisms can be scheduled on the first Sunday of each month, or the second or fourth weekend of each month after or during the 4:30 pm Mass on Saturday or the 10:30 am Mass on Sunday. There are no baptisms during Lent. Please call the parish office 217-961-6404 to reserve a baptism date.
The Baptism register must be filled out and returned to the parish office at least a week in advance of the baptismal date. Parent and Godparent forms must be signed and returned also.
